Crypto crash games: the checking mechanism, unpacked
This page is not about how a round runs — that is on crash games. Here the question is the one behind it: why this category exists almost only at crypto casinos, and what the “verify round” button actually achieves.

3 building blocks1 round that can be recomputed3 things it does not prove
01
Why the category grew up at crypto casinos
A slot comes from an outside studio. The studio supplies the mechanism that determines the result and a testing laboratory confirms it — in that chain the operator is only the shop the game stands in.
A crash game is different: it is mostly run by the operator itself. That puts the mechanism in the house’s hands, and the obvious question is why a player should believe it. This category’s answer was technical from the start, and it could only be built because the cashier already worked cryptographically anyway.
02
The three building blocks
01
The server seedA random number the house fixes before the round and keeps secret. What is published in advance is only its fingerprint — a checksum the number cannot be computed back out of.
02
The client seedA second number that comes from the player and that they can change. It ensures the house does not determine the result alone: the server seed is fixed beforehand, the client seed joins it only afterwards.
03
The round numberA counter tying both seeds to exactly one round, so the same pair does not produce the same result twice.
After the round the house releases the server seed. Anyone wanting to recompute checks two things: that the released seed matches the fingerprint published in advance, and that seed, client seed and round number together produce exactly the factor they saw.
03
What the check proves — and what it does not
The check proves
The check does not prove
That the result was fixed before the round
That the game is fairly priced
That it was not changed afterwards
That the house edge is low
That the stake did not influence it
That the house pays out
The right-hand column is the more important one. A mechanism can be fully recomputable and still belong to a house that blocks the withdrawal with a clause. That is why the verification clause weighs as much as it does in this comparison.
04
How to actually check a round
Change the client seed beforehand. Leaving the given one in place still checks correctly, but it gives up the only part of the procedure the player controls.
Note the fingerprint before playing. Without it the later release of the seed is worthless.
Check after the seed is rotated. The server seed is only released once it is no longer in use — so the check always happens in retrospect.
Hold the result against the display. If fingerprint and factor match, the round is confirmed. If either does not, that is the one finding on this whole page that really weighs.
05
Houses with in-house games in this comparison
The “offering” block awards points for in-house games, not because they are better but because they are an additional category. Anyone playing them should know that the check happens in retrospect and that the house itself is the operator.
The highest percentage in the whole comparison and at the same time the most expensive turnover — the two go together, because the factor runs on deposit plus bonus.

What does “provably fair” mean at crypto crash games?
That after the round it can be recomputed whether the result was fixed beforehand: the released server seed, the client seed and the round number must produce exactly the factor that was displayed. It says nothing about the house edge or about the payout.
Can the casino influence the result of a crash round?
Where the mechanism is correctly implemented, not after the fact: the server seed is fixed before the round and its fingerprint is published. That is precisely what the check confirms — and the only thing it confirms.
Why should I change the client seed?
Because it is the only part of the procedure the player controls. Setting it yourself rules out both numbers coming from the same source.
